Few are plain in colour, having various spots, blotches and patches in contrasting colours. Peeping from the rear of the herd I immediately noticed a small, chocolate brown llama with a pretty, dark brown – almost black – face. His fleece was extremely woolly, in contrast to many of the other llamas, which predominantly had straighter fibre. The little llama’s ears were cocked forward in a display of curiosity but his overwhelming shyness caused him to hang back while the others pushed, shoved and spat at each other in an attempt to reach the sheep pellets.
