Before that we invite readers to roadtest it by plotting their perceptions, and those of their colleagues or partners, with the help of a condensed, pen-and-paper version of our partnering diagnostic software (Appendix B).

Ambition, a key component of human energy, is a result of the partners' views of opportunity and risk. The more the perceptions of risk rise, the lower the trust expressed.
